SOPMOD System Installation FREE AS SEEN in the FEB 2008 ISSUE of
"...In keeping with the custom nature of the MCS, we contacted Fulton Armory to determine if they had any interest in producing a Modular Combat Rifle incorporating the Troy MCS. The result is the Fulton Armory/Troy Industries Modular Combat Rifle (MCR). Clint McKee, owner of Fulton Armory, is a very though minded individual whose standards for his products are incredibly high and uncompromising. When we made our proposal, Clint stated that he would reserve judgment until he saw Troy's MCS. Clint refuses to use anything but original GI or MILSPEC components in Fulton Armory M14s, M1 Garands, or M1 Carbines and while Fulton Armory rifles cost more than others, theirs are as close as possible to an original military rifle, so when we shipped the Troy MCS to Clint, we were a little apprehensive and weren't prepared for his overwhelmingly positive reaction. Within a week, we had our Fulton Armory/Troy Industries Modular Combat Rifle and if it isn't the ultimate M14, we don't know what is! "...Shooting is the acid test, and the Fulton Armory/Troy MCR lives up to its claims. Felt recoil was notably less than we are used to on a standard configuration M14/M1As. The MCS stock minimizes muzzle rise and felt recoil while enhancing control and capability for quick follow up shots. The two stage trigger is match quality and as we are fond of saying about really good triggers, breaks like the proverbial "glass rod" without creep or backlash at precisely 4.5 pounds. The Fulton Armory/Troy MCR functioned flawlessly, with shells ejected almost straight out from the receiver at a downward angle. Let us help you "finish" your CMP Carbine! For those few who may not have heard, the CMP has USGI M1 Carbines for sale! First up are Inlands, followed by other manufacturers later in the year. The CMP Carbines come without manual, sling, oiler, cleaning equipment and tools; we can help you "finish" your CMP Carbine with our selection of magazines (from five to thirty rounds), slings, oilers, bayonets (WWII, Korean War and current new production) and The M1 Carbine Owner's Guide. The Owner's Guide, by the way, is where you'll be able to date your Carbine according to its serial number. We also have the cleaning equipment and tools you'll need, including the Carbine Gas Piston Nut Wrench (yep, the gas piston nuts do come loose, and you'll need a Gas Piston Nut Wrench to tighten the nut, even when you're not removing the nut for cleaning!). We had more fun with this setup than we had testing some semi-auto machine guns, and felt that this rifle with all its night-vision accessories was about as eye-catching as the water-cooled Browning we tried a few months back. Clint - The trigger work you done for me is awesome!! It is better now that it ever was new from S/A. It works so good that my shooting buddy, (who had just purchased a NEW Super Match M1A from S/A) sent his to you the next day after he shot my rifle at practice!! You have been extremely helpful and your integrity and customer service is unsurpassed. I recognize this and I thank you. The lower looked better than any I have ever seen and was much better in fit and finish than any Bushmaster or Colt that I have owned. I want you to know that there was a time constraint to get this rifle put together. I look forward to doing business with you again in the near future...Doug This past week I had the opportunity to hit the range with my new (Fulton Armory Accutron Match FAR-15) rifle. The primary purpose was to adjust the front sight for windage. After accomplishing this, I fired 20 rounds and only left the X ring on one occasion (my fault). My target puller became frustrated because I shot the spotter through the target several times requiring her to reface. All firing was from the 200 yard line. When I went down to the target to check the Garand group I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. I had shot a 5 shot group that went just under 1.5"!! The best 3 shots of the 5 were under 3/4"!!! All I can say is every time I shoot this rifle I like it better. Judging by the "OOHS" and "AHHS" I hear at the range when others see and handle it, the feeling is not isolated to me. ...overall, I am more than satisfied and VERY happy with your work on my rifle. It was well worth the wait to get a rifle that exceeded my expectations...Wally
