Upgrade your M14 or M1A rifle with the Fulton Armory M14/M1A Extended Bolt Stop, a heavy-duty replacement for the standard M14/M1A bolt stop designed for easier operation, improved durability, and positive engagement.

Manufactured from high-strength 8620 alloy steel and case hardened to approximately 58 HRC (Rockwell C), our extended bolt stop is built to withstand the repeated impact and wear associated with locking and releasing the M14/M1A bolt.

Larger Extended Bolt Release for Easier Operation

Unlike a standard M14/M1A bolt stop, the Fulton Armory Extended Bolt Stop features a larger, extended operating surface with aggressive knurling. The increased size provides more surface area for your thumb or finger, making it considerably easier to locate, depress, and release the bolt.

The knurled surface provides positive contact and improved control, particularly when operating the rifle quickly or while wearing gloves.

Increased Bolt Contact Area for Improved Service Life

Our design improves more than just ergonomics. The Fulton Armory M14/M1A Extended Bolt Stop incorporates additional surface area at the point where the follower contacts the stop.

This larger engagement area distributes the load over more material compared with a conventional bolt stop, helping reduce localized wear and significantly increase the service life of the bolt stop.

8620 Steel, Case Hardened for Strength and Wear Resistance

Material selection and heat treatment are especially important for a component that repeatedly interfaces with the rifle’s bolt. Our M14/M1A Extended Bolt Stop is precision manufactured from 8620 alloy steel, a material well suited to components requiring a combination of strength, toughness, and surface wear resistance.

The bolt stop is case hardened to approximately 58 Rockwell C (HRC), producing a hard, wear-resistant exterior while taking advantage of the toughness provided by the 8620 steel beneath the hardened case.

Matching Fulton Armory Knurling

Attention was also given to making the extended bolt stop visually complement other popular Fulton Armory M14/M1A upgrades. The knurling pattern is designed to match the pattern used on our popular Direct Connect Suppressor Thread Adapter and M14/M1A Adjustable Gas Plug, giving rifles equipped with these components a consistent, purpose-built appearance.

M14/M1A Extended Bolt Stop Safety Notice

CAUTION: The Fulton Armory M14/M1A Extended Bolt Stop/Release is specifically designed to make access to and manipulation of the bolt release easier and faster than with a standard bolt stop. Because the extended release is larger and more accessible, additional care must be taken whenever the bolt is locked to the rear.

DO NOT REST THE WEAPON ON ITS SIDE OR LEAVE THE WEAPON UNATTENDED WHEN THE BOLT IS LOCKED BACK AND A LOADED MAGAZINE IS INSERTED IN THE RECEIVER.
