M1 Garand Competition Rifle, In Stock Now

If you shoot John C. Garand Matches, you already know the rules are strict about what counts as “as-issued.” We built this rifle to comply with CMP Rule 4.2.2, so you can show up and shoot without worrying about whether it’ll pass. Our competition Garands have been taking Gold year after year, and this one comes off the same bench.

The Receiver and Barrel

It starts with an H&R receiver in excellent condition, with a seven-digit serial number in the 5,XXX,XXX range. The barrel is a Fulton Armory by Criterion .30-06, chrome lined and match grade. It’s accurate enough to compete with, and the chrome lining helps it hold up to a full season of shooting.

GI Parts, Hand Fitted

Everything inside is GI or true mil spec. We hand select and fit the parts ourselves, including a G.I. bolt and op rod and a Springfield Armory trigger group. Nothing here is a commercial reproduction pretending to be original.

Match Legal Upgrades

These are the upgrades the rules allow, done the way they should be:

• NM trigger, set at the 4.5 lb minimum
• NM gas cylinder modification
• NM non-hooded rear sight aperture, reduced to .052

Stock and Handguards

The stock and handguards are our FA CMP Competition set in new walnut. We pick the wood by hand, fit it to the rifle, and finish it in boiled linseed oil the traditional way. It looks right and it’s built to shoot.

What’s in the Box

The rifle ships with an 8-round clip, a canvas sling and the owner’s manual.
